Dependable Auto Shippers – Your Auto Transport Company – Car Shipping Quo…

I am having a pretty bad experience with this company regarding damage made to my car during shipment. It is all despite I had my car checked by a mechanic before shipment and can prove that there was no damage before the shipment. There are more reviews of this company here.

Update: yesterday (65 days after I shipped the car or 40 days after I received it damaged) I finally got a check from DAS to cover repairs. If you ship your car with DAS or any other company, I strongly recommend that you take pictures of your car and do a mechanic's check, esp. steering and suspension. I checked my car only because I was thinking of driving it long distance initially and decided to ship at the last moment because of the weather. Even though no damage was noted in the bill of lading at the origin, DAS considers all damage at the destination a "preexisting" damage unless there is a really strong evidence to the contrary in addition to the bill of lading.
emergence: Self Organization

From the page: "It's a radical concept to think of organizations with out leadership because it's so foreign to our society. We've always had leaders who told us what to do, think, and say. I'm not talking about Mom and Dad raising kids, I'm talking about organizations, institutions, government. What would happen if the employees were empowered, trusted and listened too? What if front line employees had equal influence and authority? How would they self organize? Would they do a better job organizing themselves or do they really need to be dominated by a higher rank?"
DNA seen through the eyes of a coder

This text draws analogy between software source code and DNA from a coder perspective. It is not quite correct from a biologist perspective, but still interesting and thought provoking.

From the page: "Capitalism gives the general population an incredible amount of power, for how they spend their money determines what companies should stay in business, what services should exist, what features products should have. But most people are too lazy and/or selfish to properly exercise this incredible power."
